Art Studio, Teaching Space and Gallery

Feel very lucky and happy in what still seams like a new studio, even after over three years at FOUR ABERCORN. A space filled with light, has easy access as its all on one level, the studio has become a place where all love to visit and come back to. We have hosted several fund raising events for Charities such as Marie Curie, Alzheimers Scotland and Macmillain Nurses and a Students Exhibition with sales of their work going to a range of charities. It is also a great privildge to have been giving those with Early Onset Alzheimers art workshops in my studio.

Commissions

Left and right are examples of a commission in bronze depicting Adam Smith. Completed and installed on The Royal Mile and within Cannongate Kirk graveyard they lead to his memorial and resting place. Commissioned in 2006 these remain works that I am proud to have made.

Sculpture

My sculptures are visualised in Bronze, Paper and Stone, however there is no limit to the material used. Each piece is made from the most appropriate material for the subject matter and situation. Producing a finished  sculpture cannot be compared to any other work and gives job satifaction that is immeasureable, it is for me the most brilliant discipline of all. The visualisation of a 3 dimensional object, the working of the material and the realisation of that initial idea is a wonderful and humbling experience that will never leave me, so I hope that you can feel even a little bit of fun or wonder when viewing my sculptures in the ART GALLERY.

Drawing and Painting

Going back as far as I can remember I have had an interest in Drawing and Painting. Currently involved in teaching, sculpture, drawing, silk painting, watercolour and acrylic painting from beginner to intermediate levels. I also teach on an individual basis as well as holding workshops for larger groups. both young and old. My output of drawings and watercolours continues to grow as does my research and work towards greater bodies of art for more solo, joint and group exhibitions.
